The Williamsport Chess Club meets most Saturdays from 10:00 a.m. to 1:00 p.m. in the coffee shop area of the Books-A-Million store at the Lycoming Mall.
Club meetings are open to anyone with an interest in the game of chess, regardless of age or ability. Stop by anytime during the posted meeting hours. For more information or to be added to our club’s e-mail list please use the Contact Form below.
We have resumed our very popular chess lessons at the James V. Brown Library which will be held every Thursday evening, starting January 21, 2016, from 5:30 p.m.-7:30 p.m. in the Lowry conference room on the 3rd floor of the Library’s Welch Children’s Wing.
We have two groups, one for beginners and an advanced class for those who have completed our beginner’s program or already have a basic understanding of the game. These classes are open to anyone regardless of age, though generally we recommend eight as a reasonable age to start learning the game; adult students are welcome as well. No advance registration is necessary. These chess lessons are free and open to the public.
Please share this information with family, friends, etc. who may have children (or themselves) interested in learning the game. For more information please use the Contact Form below:
