2015 12/10 Weekly Update

YMCA 12/5/2015 Quad
Our final USCF-rated quad tournament of the year, held last Saturday at the Williamsport YMCA, was a great success. Twelve club members competed in three quads. Congratulations to Quad #1 winner, Mark Confer, with 2 points. Tied for 2nd were John Hill and Jim Cunningham with 1.5 points. Kudos to Eric Holecko who scored a perfect 3 points to take 1st in Quad 2, with David Han coming in 2nd with 2 points. Congrats to Bryan Stillman who aced Quad 3 with a perfect 3 points as well. Mike Harvey finished in 2nd place with 2 points. We’ll schedule our next quad sometime in January after the holidays.

2015 London Classic
Always one of the best international tournaments each year, the 2015 London Classic features most of the top players in the world. After five rounds Hikaru Nakamura of the U.S. is tied for the lead with Maxime Vachier-Lagrave of France and Anish Giri from the Netherlands. Meetings
We will have our regular open play meeting this Saturday, 12/12, starting at 10:00 a.m. in the coffee shop area of the Books-A-Million store at the Lycoming Mall. We’ll also meet next Tuesday, 12/15, starting at 6:00 p.m. in the 4th Street Grille at the Genetti Hotel.
