2016 4/1 Weekly Update

We will have our regular open play meeting this Saturday, 4/2, starting at 10:00 a.m. in the coffee shop area of the Books-A-Million store at the Lycoming Mall. Turnouts for the last several weeks have been quite strong; 16-18 fellow club members enjoying the game of chess in a fun, friendly atmosphere. If you haven’t stopped by for a while come join us!

Sergey Karjakin defeated Fabiano Caruana in the final round of the 2016 Candidates tournament to earn the challenger spot in the upcoming world championship match against current champion Magnus Carlsen this November in New York City. We are planning a club trip to go to see some of the matches.
