2015 9/10 Weekly Update

We will have our regular open play meeting this Saturday, 9/12, starting at 10:00 a.m. in the coffee shop area of the Books-A-Million store at the Lycoming Mall.

The FIDE World Cup 2015 tournament starts tomorrow in Baku, Azerbaijan. This is a single-elimination tournament featuring 128 of the best chess players in the world competing for the last two spots in the upcoming world championship cycle Candidates Tournament. “The Candidates Tournamentis a chess tournament organized by the world chess federation FIDE since 1950, as the final contest to determine the challenger for the World Chess Championship.
